On April 27, 2018, hundreds of protesters at the Orange County Board of Supervisors (in California, USA) assembled to show their opposition to recently-proposed legislation. The Board at the time was considering rescinding their vote for expanding homeless shelters in the community as well as reconsidering the sanctuary city ruling of Irvine. Protesters were found on either side of both debates, as both homeless activists and local community members aired concerns or support towards the proposal for the expansion of homeless shelters. Buses paid for by WeIrvine, a business promoting Irvine to Chinese immigrants, carried over 1,200 pro-sanctuary activists to the assemblies, demonstrating the solidarity between the business and humanitarian communities.
