Boycott of Companies that Helped Build U.S. Border Wall
Following the mass outpouring of bids from construction and logistical firms across the United States to build the border wall proposed by President Trump, Hillary Ronen, serving on the board of Supervisors for San Francisco, introduced such a blacklist bill in March of 2017. Any firm with a bid to build the border wall was consigned to a “blacklist” and was removed from the opportunity to bid on constructing city projects. Similar bills were put forward or passed in New York, California, Illinois, Arizona, and Rhode Island. As of April 2017, the list of firms interested in constructing the border wall had risen to nearly 800.
