Iranian American Group
In 2015, the National Iranian American Council was developed in the United States in order to influence U.S-Iranian policy. The group was developed to both lobby, and politically organize and endorse candidates in favor of Iran diplomacy, as well as seek support and funds from prominent Iranian Americans. They also work to oppose those who are not in favor of Iran. Lobbying allows for the organization of funds for candidates who stand behind important issues, and pushing for what the group feels is important by tying themselves to both the community and politics. NIAC is funded through a grant, as well as donations from supporters - they use this money to support lawmakers, candidates, and others in support of their ideas.
Student Lobbyists for DREAM Act
In February, 2012, teens from Brooklyn and Queens, USA, protested and lobbied lawmakers to pass the New York Dream Act to open state tuition assistance to all students regardless of immigration status. The teens met with lawmakers in dozens of meetings all day to get college tuition assistance and scholarship bills passed for immigrant students. The lobbying trip was organized by the non-profit Make the Road
