The Plowshares Movement is an anti-nuclear weapons movement led by Christian Pacifists that advocate for war resistance. They practice damaging military property and weapons. They first became popular in the United States in the 1980s after several of their members were convicted after damaging a nuclear warhead.

On April 10 2018, actress Nicolle Rochelle was arrested for protesting actor Bill Cosby’s history of sexual assault and victimization of women. As Cosby was being escorted towards the courthouse, Rochelle disrobed herself to reveal the names of his victims as well as “Cosby Rapist” written in red and black ink. Rochelle worked with FEMEN to organize the single-woman protest in an attempt to return the discussion of Cosby to sexual assault instead of himself as a 'victim of a public lynching as a black man.'
